David--I really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. I can imagine that it's incredibly difficult to come onto an established site and to keep the community happy in the transition.

In all honesty, when I first started reading your stuff on Jack Of All Blogs and elsewhere, I was a bit put off by your blogging style. I totally wasn't into it (kind of thought you sounded like a jerk :-) ), but there was something about you that kept me interested, kept me reading.

I thought, "There must be something more to this guy", and since getting to know you I've been really pleasantly surprised to find out that this is true. On the surface you're brash and cowboy-ish, but you're also a creative, forward thinking person with a lot of depth who has definite opinions that you're not afraid to share.

David, I think your style might be more of an acquired taste for some readers (like it was for me :-) ) but who knows, you just might convert some nay-sayers to being fans in the end. :-)

Oh, and BTW--love the kitchen curtains--did you sew those yourself? :-)
