Tips For Analyzing Statistics To Use For Marketing

February 3, 2017 By Mike R.

If you want to fast-track your success rate from a marketing standpoint, one of your best bets is to immediately start using statistical analysis to prop up your logical reasoning. In the past, statistics were a bit more difficult to come by, but now, almost everything about a product, brand, or service is tracked on a microscopic level. You can use this to leverage your marketing plans!

Five tips that will help you use statistical resources include following app-monitoring potential, using SEO analysis plugins, researching time analysis, watching for global and local trends, and remembering that big data is your new best friend as a marketer.

App-Monitoring Statistics

If your marketing deals with mobile apps at all, then you’ll want to get onboard with app-monitoring software. By having a dashboard view of every aspect of sales, distribution, performance, and various digital queries, you can adjust nearly every parameter of your marketing scheme to coordinate with best practices that will improve your overall bottom line.

SEO Analyzing Plugins

For those who have marketing that relies more on the blog-post concept, you’ll want to look into SEO analysis plugins. These are extremely powerful plugins that analyze the content of your blog posts and give you stats about everything from ratios of words to headlines, all the way through keyword density and how effective your phrasing is going to be based on length of sentences and difficulty of word choice. With the simple installation of the SEO analytics, your quality of posts will improve dramatically and exponentially.

Time Analysis

As far as marketing goes, it’s great that you know how many times people have clicked on something, or how many people have visited a page. But the next level of depth when it comes to analysis is knowing how long they stayed on that page, or how long they spent looking at an ad. That deeper set of statistical knowledge will allow a much more efficient way for you to understand how well your marketing is working.

Watching For Trends

Deep analysis of all of the above topics, like clicks, time spent, sales figures, etc., will give you a readout of trend over time, and that’s another set of data that you can use to your benefit. Find out what marketing decisions you have made that create upward trends, and continue to follow those paths to more positive results.

Big Data and AI Can Help You

Two phrases that you’ll hear more and more as a marketer these days are regarding “big data” and “AI” or artificial intelligence. There’s more information contained in analysis right now than any person can realistically deal with, and that’s why computer processing of these huge chunks of data in order to break them down is going to play a key role in the marketing management of the future.
