Yeh. See your point.. in fact i agree with it. I just think that LOTS of people focus too much on the idea of "pixel perfection" than is really applicable to this domain.

I definately think it woudl be better to have tools at our disposal that allowed us to have that sort of control if we want it... but i also think it's a pipedream. The only solution at a browser level (in reality) would be to abolish IE (and probably Safari) in favour of one standardised browser - the likely hood of this happening is pretty obvious though..

Rex, yes, you have a point, but I still like to think it could be possible. And if it can't be helped, I still believe it's valid to lament all the cross-browser problems that are happening only because browser vendors can't find a way to render webpages the same way. It's more about hurdles to web standards than it is about being against fluidity, etc.

"We all want pixel perfection, do we not? "
- What for? So long as the designs you are producing aren't obviously flawed to the viewer.. is pixel perfection REALLY that important?

Personally, i think with the way the web is going (fluid designs, content heavy layouts etc)... the pixel perfection mantra is going to become less and less important over time..
