@Todd: Well thanks for being the first to comment! I see what you're saying about the Google Ads thing...Anytime a design switches to this style, that's a common complaint.

@J David: Interesting comparison. I would say I like the CopyBlogger design more as well, but probably because it's a bit cleaner and uses whitespace very well.

@David: Thanks for the link. I checked out his review, it was very solid.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Over on my new blog, a friend of mine has also done an in depth analysis of the new design. He also gives it a strong thumbs down.

To me, the layout is very reminiscent of Copyblogger; the width, the 3 columns, the positioning of the ads. Yet somehow I like the Copyblogger design, but not the ProBlogger one... I think it has to do with the colors for me.

not sure why no one has commented on this yet. The only reason I didn't at first was because I don't use pro blogger.

Good writeup, very well planned out. I personally like the new layout, but there is one thing that is really bugging me about it.

Almost everything on the main page reminds me of a google add. at a quick glance, I would have said it was a page full of ads.
