the round logo should be preserved and optically integrated in the new design and besides I think the layout has a bit too much of asloping squares – though it seems to have concept

In fairness sake the issues you propose in the top right could be due to the resizing of the image. I like the tilted logo and buttons, it gives the site some flair without going from the minimial style. Still, it’s a way to go but that is to be expected from a draft so I don’t want to be overly critical here.

Keep at it, I think it will be an improvement to the current one, which I think is a bit dated.

Not overly impressive. Good minimal designed sites are deceivingly difficult to achieve.

(Without knowing your goals with the new design) I’d have to say the current is better than the proposed. The top right corner shows an insensitivity to typography and kerning problems. While the angled buttons and logo shape just leave an uneasy disjointed feeling. Wacky angled lines usually yell… change for the sake of change… to me

Maybe you’re right about the 125 pixel ad blocks, Gerard, I don’t know. On this one I’m afraid there are other forces at play (i.e. sales department), so I need to make room for them.

Personally, I’ve been thinking a bit on ideal ad placements. Actually, I think I’ll write a blog post about it! :)

Actually, I like the change to the logo Thord. The rest of the design is pretty clean too.

However, the 125px ad blocks – aren’t we all becoming blind to these within the niche these days? I for one barely notice them anymore. Maybe there’s a challenge – to break that ad unit cliche?
