That means that average consumer does not care what browser he/she has installed as long as it can be used. If this plugin does not get installed directly via Windows update, and as high priority update (remeber IE7 a while ago?), web developers who care about crossbrowser compatibility will still develop their respected sites the same way. IE has market advantage solely based on the fact that it comes bundled with Windows. That means that average consumer does not care what browser he/she has installed as long as it can be used.

If this plugin does not get installed directly via Windows update, and as high priority update (remeber IE7 a while ago?), web developers who care about crossbrowser compatibility will still develop their respected sites the same way.
