Hi Chris, I've also tried the del.icio.us extension you were talking about. If you create "bundles" I think it would behave a bit like tlbox, though it takes work. Glad to have made you try tlbox though!

@ia: Sorry the sidebar isn't working for you. Just to be clear, I'm speaking of this one: http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/extensionnew.

At any rate, tlbox does look very useful. I'm off to give it a whirl right now. Thanks!

Chris, that del.icio.us sidebar doesn't seem to be working for me. But either way, both del.icio.us and tlbox are portable solutions. Perhaps they can coexist right now given that tlbox has a narrow list of topics made specially for geeks.

If you're using the latest official del.icio.us bookmark add-on for Firefox, you can access your bookmarks with a simple Ctrl-B. This opens the bookmarks sidebar (which del.icio.us now inhabits) and sets focus to the search field. From there, just type CSS, for example, to see all the items you've tagged CSS. Of course, there are no sexy icons, but it's quick and portable.

While I like the idea behind tlbox, it seems to me like the current del.icio.us bookmark add-on meets the needs you raised in the article.
