Thanks for the info. Most people are so concerned with traffic they don’t have a good base set up at their site.

Your point about content is so true. If you have interesting content and good content and write it for your visitors, more will come and the search engines will also love it.

Very good article, mate.

I’d like to add that networking online (getting involved in groups/social bookmarking etc) can really give you a boost in traffic. It takes time but the traffic doesn’t just spike and go away. In general, it stays with you.

it’s hard getting the right links to match your content, if your sites based on cats, linking on a site based around cameras isn’t worth the effort. In most cases linking your site another site with the same content wont happen because you will be competing with that site.

Thanks for the article. Most of it seems like common sense once read, but it's funny how sometimes the obvious slips by us. Pascal, many blogs, including this one use the rel="nofollow" microformat which tells the SE's robot not to follow links which it is applied to. Therefore a link inside a comment using this has no direct bearing on SE rank. See the rel= “nofollow ” microformat specification.
