Prologue: Microblogging with WordPress

Have you seen Prologue, the new WordPress theme inspired by Twitter, to say the least. The whole idea is to let groups of people post small blog posts.

Read about it here, visit the demo blog, and nab it for yourself here.

Impressive? Yeah, sure, and there are possibilities for enterprising people here, like launching your own WordPress MU powered microblogging service. It’s possible.

Then again, it’s just a blog theme. I’m having a hard time to get carried away here, not to bash it or anything, it’s just nothing that spectacular to me.

Neither are most of the premium news themes out there, albeit good packaging and so on. They’re still blog themes.

None of them, not Prologue nor the premium themes, do something new. They’re utilizing WordPress.

Honestly, I’d say that the Facebookish new Movable Type plugin is a cooler thing, although it’s hardly the same thing as the Prologue theme. Just bordering.

Are you excited about Prologue? How will you use it, if at all? Chris Brogan knows, but what about you?
