Designer Dream Team: Redux

December 19, 2003 | View Comments (2) | Category: Our Thoughts

Summary: The designer dream team I discussed a month ago is beginning to form as we speak.

First read this.

Then listen when I say "I told you so."

Very exciting times. Will this fall apart though? Too many chefs in the kitchen or something that will raise the bar for the rest of the design firms and freelancers of the world?

We do often see in a team with many stars that those getting less play time will sometimes complain. It's no fun watching. You feel helpless. Can't contribute.

I doubt they will ALL work on the same project. It is hard to get a consensus when it is managed by committee. Eventually, someone will wear the 'C', or even find some outside manager for neutrality.

If they are the A-squad, this does not prevent an A1-squad from forming or even A2-squad. The best always love challenge. That is what makes them so good. Healthy competition is good. Sheesh, I feel one team is not enough. There should be more!

Forget holding the bull by the horns. They will be swinging the bull by its tail. (add the feel from Elrond's council in the Fellowship, and \\^_^) This team will be greater than the sum of its parts.

Competition is very grand and is something that is needed in this industry. Hopefully though, they do not become a factory of sorts for design and just pump out designs like in the dotcom days.
